It appears that all the talk of João Cancelo being unhappy at Manchester City has led to the player heading to Bayern Munich on loan.
This surprising news comes from Sky in Germany, who report the news via their journalist Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.
Described as ‘XXL News’, which it is, it’s simply pointed out that the Portugal international ‘will join FC Bayern via loan’, which we’re guessing will be until the end of the season.
Despite talk that the player wasn’t happy with Pep Guardiola of late, the idea that the versatile player could leave never really seemed serious.

He has been used in a variety of positions by the Spaniard at Manchester City, but it’s clear something has broken between the two for him to head to Germany, especially with him spending the last two Manchester City games on the bench.
Plettenberg added in a further tweet that the medical is set for today, and this is described as a ‘massive transfer’ for the Bundesliga side, with Benjamin Pavard ‘not in shape’, as the Frenchman ‘can leave the club in the summer’.
