Manchester United have been told the would be signing a “brilliant madman” if they move for Napoli star Victor Osimhen this summer.
Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A side in the coming months after starring in Italy this season, scoring 16 goals and registering four assists in 17 league appearances so far.
That’s seen him put on the shortlist of several big clubs, with Manchester United believed to be at the front of the queue.
They’re determined to add an elite level striker to their squad in the summer and a recent report in England stated that it is up to Erik ten Hag whether they move for Osimhen or Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
Either player is like to cost a huge figure to sign given their abilities and the impressive goalscoring numbers they regularly post for Napoli and Spurs respectively.
Each have their merits but according to journalist Gianni Visnadi, Osimhen “does things others don’t even think about”, something Manchester United need to take into consideration.
“I am crazy about Osimhen and I think he is a fantastic player,” he told Radio Crc, relayed by Napoli Piu.
“€200 million for a footballer seems crazy to me. If we go by the ratio with others I think there is a very dangerous drift in this aspect.
“Osimhen is crazy because he does things that others don’t even think about, this year he is showing who he really is.
“Congratulations to whoever chose him. He is a jewel that has been polished well to make him shine as he deserves.
“Napoli had continuity, good game, alternatives. Napoli went 6 games without Osimhen and no one noticed it because some good guys entered who won the games. Osimhen arrived with the stigmata of a champion, but the coach’s merits are also evident because he is a total player.
“Ibanez making that mistake should be thanked because otherwise we wouldn’t have seen a crazy play from Osimhen. Only a brilliant madman can make that play, the genius of making that shot there is extraordinary.”
