Leeds United are in the race to sign Ternana forward Felipe Avenatti, according to Italian national newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Only yesterday there were claims in the Umbrian media that Leeds United were back in for the Uruguayan after missing out on him last summer.
Gazzetta dello Sport have speculated on the possible ins and outs this summer for players from Serie B. One player that has again been linked with Leeds United is Avenatti, following reports last week that Ternana could look to offload him in this transfer window.
Ternana are concerned his value may start to decrease if they don’t sell the forward this summer because of his contract situation, and due to his poor form last season they may be forced to sell him. With Christian Panucci now the coach of Ternana, the future of Avenatti will likely be decided by the former AC Milan star.
Yesterday it was revealed Leeds United continued to monitor the player last season, and are subsequently aware of the situation.
Leeds United were strongly linked with the South American 12 months ago, but instead of moving he signed a contract extension with Ternana.
