This Monday, several websites in the Italian media are covering a story from Tuttosport saying Inter Milan’s Gabigol is in negotiations to join Flamengo from Brazil.
However, the Brazilian media tells otherwise. Because although the striker is a target for Flamengo, he could be moving to the Premier League instead.
It’s journalist Jorge Nicola from Yahoo who explains the situation today, saying that Gabigol is giving the priority to negotiations with a Premier League club, which are said to be underway.
The name of the club hasn’t been revealed, and all the blog could learn with a friend of the player is that this interested side is in the upper half of the Premier League table.
However, for the negotiation to succeed, the FA need to give Gabigol a work permit first. The request has been made and he’s awaiting a response.
A few clubs have been linked to the player in the past few months, with Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham being repeated as possible destinations a few times. From these three, only the Toffees and Hammers are on the top 10 of the Premier League.
Gabigol belongs to Inter Milan, and has spent the past year on loan at Santos, where he’s had a great season with 27 goals in 53 appearances.
