The January transfer window may be gone, but Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Roony Bardghji continues to be a topic in the Scandinavian media.
This week, we’ve already seen an FC Copenhagen official admit that the 18-year-old should leave the club soon, following the recent rumours of his move to Spurs.
Now Aftonbladet managed to have a word with Bardghji himself, and the potential transfer to Spurs was the main topic of the conversation.
“Now it is closed and I am here. My main focus is here. There is not much more to say. All the talk is gone. I try to make it as good as possible for FCK. I’m happy that I’m here. I also chose to stay here. It feels good,” said Bardghji.
With Tottenham having an agreement to sign Lucas Bergvall, with the player having reportedly rejected Barcelona, Bardaghji had his say on that.
“I am happy for him. He’s an incredibly nice guy. I hope everything goes the way he wants. It will be fun to talk next time we meet with the national team.
“I don’t know enough details. It’s hard to know what Barcelona said or offered. I think it seems okay, it’s his choice. He knows what feels best and where he will be comfortable.”
Then Aftonbladet asked whether there could be a Swedish trio of Bardghji, Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski at Tottenham.
“It’s fun to think about. You never know, it could happen. Hard to say now.”
Bardghji may be quite young, but already has 15 goals and one assist in 71 appearances for Copenhagen’s first team. He’s expected to be one of the country’s big talents of the next generation, along with Bergvall.
It would undoubtedly be interesting for Spurs to have the duo arriving together next summer, although it sounds like it will take a little more negotiation to buy him from Copenhagem.
