Kostas Tsimikas joined AS Roma on loan from Liverpool late in the summer transfer window.
The left-back made his debut against Lazio on Sunday. He had to wait until Thursday for his first start. Tsimikas featured against Nice in the Europa League and put in a good performance, grabbing an assist.
Roma picked up a 2-1 win over the French side and some praise has gone the Liverpool loanee’s way.
RomaForever report the full-back is ‘competing without tension’ at Roma, having stepped away from the pressure of Anfield.
They note that the Greek has responded well to Gian Piero Gasperini’s demands, as he played with confidence against Nice and showed Roma’s strength lies in squad depth. This isn’t easy as the Italian has a very demanding system.
There is belief Tsimikas’ wealth of experience from his time at Liverpool will be very useful in Rome, where the 29-year-old can now get regular first-team football.
This can also prove key to the Giallorossi as Tsimikas’ quality and ability to play at the highest level ‘change the balance of power’ for the Italian giants.
