Bernd Leno’s new contract at Fulham includes a ‘hefty salary increase’ for the goalkeeper, who has ‘found happiness’ at the club and is keen to remain there.
That’s according to BILD, who cover the German’s new deal at Craven Cottage after it was officially announced earlier yesterday.
The newspaper reports that Leno’s new deal was made official on Tuesday evening, with him extending until 2027 with the option of another year.
His current deal was set to run until 2025 but those responsible at Fulham are ‘very satisfied’ with the goalkeeper and wanted to reward him for his performances.
The new contract comes with a ‘hefty salary increase’ for Leno, who has seen his annual wages rise from €5m to around €8m.
His decision to accept and sign on the dotted line is being seen as a further example of the fact he has ‘found happiness’ at Craven Cottage after moving there in a €3.6m deal from Arsenal in August 2022.
He’s been number one ever since and managed 53 appearances to date, a number that Fulham will hope can be significantly increased in the years to come, with them very happy with what they’ve seen so far.
