Saturday was a very good day for Fulham as they thrashed Huddersfield Town 5-1 away from home.

The Cottagers had two Portuguese players in the goals, with Fabio Carvalho getting one, and Ivan Cavaleiro scoring twice. There’s now the chance of them being joined by a compatriot, with Sunday’s edition of Record saying a deal for Bruno Paz is in the pipeline.

A defensive midfielder, the 23-year-old is out of the picture at Sporting and the Lisbon club are willing to let him go. According to Record, Fulham will make an offer for the player ‘at the beginning of the week’, and an interesting deal could be agreed.

Fulham are said to be trying to convince Sporting to let Bruno Paz leave on a free transfer. Sporting could allow that, but there’s conditions.

The Lions would want a buyback clause of €2.5m, and have a percentage of a future sale.

Fulham will likely be against inserting a buyback clause at such a low amount, yet they would be getting the signing for free.
