Fulham are looking likely to speak to Bayern Munich about striker Jonah Kusi-Asare’s loan deal in January.

That’s at least according to Sport 1. They report that Bayern’s bosses will not be happy with the loan deal at Craven Cottage to date.

According to them, Kusi-Asare will have envisioned the spell at Fulham going very differently. So will Bayern, who ‘breathed a sigh of relief’ when it was signed off on deadline day.

In hindsight, however, it probably would have been best if it hadn’t happened. They had hoped for the 18-year-old to take the next step in the Premier League. Instead, he’s been on the pitch for exactly one minute. He hasn’t even been given a shot despite injuries to Rodrigo Muniz and Raúl Jiménez.

Fulham manager Marco Silva has hinted it’s because he doesn’t believe the youngster is ready. This is something he’s commented on several times to date. There have been hints that Fulham expected a different player, one further along in his development.

They’re likely to target a striker in the January transfer window. And if they can get one, terminating Kusi-Asare’s loan is ‘likely to become a topic of discussion’.

Bayern are set to be open to those discussions as the deal certainly hasn’t gone how sporting director Christoph Freund had planned. He was convinced the striker would develop well in England, instead it’s likely he’ll be heading back to Germany in January.
