Good news for Fulham fans who were afraid of seeing the club negotiate João Palhinha’s exit in the January transfer window.
A new update on the midfielder’s situation is now brought by Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, and it’s claimed that the player and his staff were informed that a transfer won’t happen this month.
An exit from Fulham in the middle of the season is ‘not a topic’, says the reporter, regardless of Bayern Munich’s chase for him.
Plettenberg claims that Palhinha, who has a ‘great character’ with ‘great mentality’, is completely focused on his season with Marco Silva’s side. Still, he’s ‘very disappointed’ with the situation as his ‘biggest dream’ was to join the Bundesliga giants, last summer or now.
Such a big operation indeed sounds complicated for the winter market, so it’s not shocking that it doesn’t take place now, although it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bayern Munich coming back for him at the end of the season.
Following all the summer drama, Palhinha ended up renewing his contract with Fulham, and is committed to the club until 2028, with an option for an extra year.
