Among the many claims about João Palhinha’s transfer to Fulham, on Tuesday morning there were claims from the Portuguese media claiming the player would travel to London ‘in the coming hours’.

The midfielder is one of the players who had some extra days off, and that’s why the local media didn’t know if he’d train again with Sporting’s squad or not.

It turns out that Record now features a story claiming Palhinha is training on his own in Sacavém, which is near Lisbon. He’s been working with a personal coach, André Coelho, who played with him for Sacavense’s youth ranks.

Record, who claimed on their website the transfer to Fulham is ‘imminent‘, now only mentioned that he’s ‘wanted’ by the Whites. And they managed to speak to Coelho about the training Palhinha has been getting.

“We performed four training units, during six days, with rest in between. It was a simple work, of explosion, coordination, power and also resistance.”

On Tuesday morning, Jornal de Notícias claimed that Palhinha’s move to Fulham has been delayed because of a commission issue between Sporting and Jorge Mendes.
