Even though Fulham’s interest in Fiorentina centre-back Igor seems to have cooled down a little lately, today there’s an interesting story coming from TuttoMercatoWeb.
The outlet features a piece claiming the 25-year-old ‘now seems to be close to leaving’ the Serie A side.
When speaking of the interested clubs, TuttoMercatoWeb claims there are two clubs who are ‘most pressing’ for the signing. Those are Fulham and Villarreal.
Even though Nice had previously been linked to Igor, the outlet sounds pretty sure it’s the Whites and the Yellow Submarines who push harder at this time, and ‘there may be news in the next few days’.
The links between Fulham and Igor have been on since the start of May, when it was first claimed that the West London side have been ‘making concrete moves’ for the signing. A couple of weeks ago, it was even claimed the player already spoke to Marco Silva for the transfer.
What seemed to have slowed down the chase is that the Whites also have AS Roma’s Roger Ibañez as a target and are only likely to move for one of them. And although recent reports said there was an advance for the Giallorossi player, TuttoMercatoWeb now make it sound like the Fiorentina defender – who would be cheaper – wasn’t forgotten.
