Fulham are today back to being mentioned in the race for Benfica left-back Alejandro Grimaldo.
The report this time comes from journalist Bruno Andrade, who has an update on the battle for the potential free agent.
It’s now claimed that Real Sociedad ‘strongly joined’ the dispute for the player, having already made contact for the signing.
It’s then highlighted there are English clubs interested in him, and Fulham are among them.
Grimaldo’s contract with Benfica expires at the end of the season, and there are no signs of a deal so far. On Wednesday morning, newspaper Record highlighted him talking about his potential exit.
“The good and the bad times were spent here. We have to think about the important thing, which is winning the championship. Saying if I stay or not, if I make a decision, is not as important as Benfica winning the championship.”
Fulham have been linked to the player since March, and it was even claimed that Marco Silva has already given the club the ‘green light’ for Grimaldo’s arrival.
The Portuguese media has been full of stories about the future of the Benfica star, with reports claiming the likes of Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are interested in him as well.
All this battle makes it look like the player won’t be making a decision so soon.
