Fulham star Bernd Leno has hailed managed Marco Silva and his ability to get the ‘maximum out of the team’.
Fulham have been hugely impressive since returning to the Premier League in the summer, currently sitting seventh in the table with 31 points from 21 games.
That sees them sitting above the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea in the table and just five points behind Tottenham in fifth, a remarkable achievement for a newly promoted side at this point in the campaign.
They’ve done this playing an exciting brand of attacking football, scoring just one less than 3rd placed Newcastle United and the same as Manchester United in fourth.
Much of the praise for this has been given to Silva, who is finally flourishing in the top flight after his struggles at Everton earlier in his career.
Leno is certainly a fan and has hailed his manager’s ability to get the best out of the current squad and make Fulham ‘unpredictable’.
“We are very strong at home. We play very bravely, not like a promoted team or a supposed relegation candidate,” he told Kicker.
“We are unpredictable, sometimes we play long, sometimes short, and we are also very dangerous when it comes to standards. And in England, as we all know, anyone can beat anyone. Fulham play a strong pressing game.
“He (Silva) gets the maximum out of the team. He knows the characteristics of the individual players and the whole team very well. He is really very, very demanding.
“In terms of tactics, in terms of mentality, in terms of cohesion. And he does that in every training session. Sometimes he gets upset about a bad pass, even if we’ve won three games before.
“And the players follow him. Everyone knows that if we do what he demands, we will be successful. That’s why we are where we are at the moment. His whole staff is also working very well. He is really doing a great job.”
Since joining the club, Leno has made 19 appearances for Fulham in the Premier League, conceding 28 goals and keeping four clean sheets.
