Fulham have seen an offer for Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci rejected by the Italian club, who are uninterested in selling the player.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Gazzetta Granata, who say Fulham will have work to do to change the Serie A club’s thinking.
The newspaper reports that Fulham have made a bid for Ricci ‘in the last few hours’ as they step up their search for a replacement for Joao Palhinha, who has joined Bayern Munich.
They sent an offer worth €20m plus bonuses but that was instantly rejected by Torino, who have no interest in selling Ricci this summer.
Their plan is for him to stay and only a ‘monstrous’ offer of over €30m would convince them to change that stance. It seems unlikely they’ll receive such a bid at this moment in time.
Instead, the plan is to start discussing a new contract with the midfielder to further lock him to the club and stop Fulham or anyone else getting him.
Marco Silva’s side had presumably been looking to take advantage of their relationship Torino, who they successful bought Sasa Lukic from in the past.
Their offer was rejected outright, though, and it remains to be seen if they now up that bid or turn their attention elsewhere.
