Fulham have a desire to buy Jonah Kusi-Asare from Bayern Munich this summer.
In September 2025, the Premier League side signed the striker on loan with an option to buy.
At that time, Sport Witness relayed news that Fulham paid a €4m loan fee and the Bavarian club secured a buyback option.
Marco Silva didn’t utilise the 18-year-old regularly. He played 122 minutes from 10 matches of which 49 minutes were from seven Premier League games. The Sweden U21 international has made only two appearances for Fulham since the end of January.
Earlier in the season, the German media were critical of his decision to join the London club and suggested he should leave.
Fulham want to keep striker
Marco Silva has stepped down from his role and Fulham are yet to appoint his successor. However, it appears a club-level decision has been made to keep Jonah Kusi-Asare.
That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who state the English club have decided to buy the frontman, but they won’t be exercising the purchase clause.
Instead, Fulham are preparing to make an offer to Bayern Munich and the fee will be less than the buyout option. Sky make no mention of the clause or the fee Fulham are looking to propose.
Earlier claims from the UK stated the option to buy was set at €12m. If that’s the case, it’s no surprise that Fulham are seeking a discount.
Why Fulham have advantage
Jonah Kusi-Asare, Raúl Jiménez and Rodrigo Muniz were the three strikers at Fulham this season.
Muniz finished with a goal and an assist from 25 matches while the Mexico international left as a free agent.
Fulham need to strengthen their attack and are starting by making fresh efforts to retain the Swede. Kusi-Asare’s contract at Bayern Munich lasts until 2027 and he’s now valued at €3m by Transfermarkt.
Vincent Kompany’s side have to sell this summer to avoid losing him for free next year. Fulham can take advantage of this to try and sign the Swede for a bargain price.
