Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola today shares an update on the situation of Fulham striker Carlos Vinícius.
The 29-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, is now back to the Whites, but could be involved in a new move very soon.
The story starts with the recent rumours that Atlético Mineiro are interested in signing Carlos Vinícius from Fulham. Nicola got in touch with the player’s agent Flavio Ribeiro, who claimed that the Belo Horizonte side gave up on the signing since they changed leadership.
“We even opened negotiations with Atlético. But after Rodrigo Caetano left for the national team, there was no further contact,” Flavio Ribeiro told Jorge Nicola.
Nicola then adds that Carlos Vinícius is currently more likely to sign for Grêmio or Palmeiras, with the clubs being the ‘most interested’ in the signing.
The striker’s contract with Fulham runs until 2025, with an option for an extra year, and it’s unclear if he’d have any chance to be in Marco Silva’s squad for the coming season.
Carlos Vinícius is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €4m, and it’d be no surprise to see Brazilian sides trying to sign him on a loan with an option to buy.
