Fulham need to up their offer for Sevilla midfielder Lucas Ocampos if they are to convince him to move this summer.
That’s according to Marca and journalist Juan Antonio Pineda, who say the initial proposal from Fulham has not been enough to convince the Argentine winger.
Fulham have been chasing Ocampos’ signature over the last day or so, with them seemingly keen to strengthen Marco Silva’s squad before Friday’s transfer deadline.
Their interest has seen a number of articles on the matter across Spain, with initial positivity that they could get their man followed by an insistence that nothing was done between the clubs or between Fulham and the player.
A report earlier today indicated that those in charge at Craven Cottage needed to make more of an effort to get the winger, who was not convinced and doesn’t seem that keen on leaving Sevilla.
It appears that remains the case, with Pineda quoted as saying that “Ocampos stays because the offer has not been enough for the player” when Marca asked him on the subject.
That would indicate then, that in talks with Ocampos, Fulham have not offered the required amount to make him think twice and so at this point he’ll be remaining at Sevilla.
There is plenty of time for that to change, of course, particularly as Fulham have the funds from Aleksandr Mitrovic’s sale to Saudi Arabia at their disposal, but for now they’ve not offered enough.
