As Alejandro Grimaldo’s situation at Benfica remains unpredictable, Fulham continue to be linked as one of the potential destinations for the 27-year-old.

The reason newspapers Record and O Jogo feature stories about the left-back today is the interview he had with the Eagles’ official channels on Tuesday.

When that story was announced on social media, many people thought that would confirm his contract extension with the club. But that didn’t happen, with Grimaldo only talking about other subjects, and his deal continues to expire in a few months.

O Jogo talks about the ‘taboo’ that this subject has become, as despite Benfica’s ‘clear’ intention to renew his contract, many clubs are interested. Fulham are named as one of the latest who joined the race for the signing, along with Nice and Nottingham Forest.

Other clubs such as Juventus, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Sociedad and Valencia were already interested in the player.

According to Record, Grimaldo is keeping ‘all options open’ and will soon analyse what’s best for him, being already attracted to moves to England and Spain. The outlet also names Fulham as one of the contenders for the signing.
