Montpellier’s Steve Mounie recently signed a contract extension at the Ligue 1 club, but reports suggest he could be on his way to England.
According to L’Equipe on Thursday, Fulham are interested in the services the of Beninese striker.
L’Equipe say Fulham already had a bid of €3m rejected by Montpellier, but they’ve comeback with an offer of €5m excluding bonuses.
Montpellier’s president Laurent Nicollin has confirmed the approach of Fulham, but is determined to keep him at the Ligue 1 club.
The 21-year-old had 11 goals and 5 assists to his name last season at Ligue 2 club Nimes.
There have been reports in the English media suggesting Fulham are close to signing Mounie for €7m, but it now appears they’re not that close.
