Fulham are today linked to the signing of Porto midfielder Mateus Uribe.
That information is brought by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, who features a piece on the big race there is for the 32-year-old this summer.
The story’s focus is on the player’s denial to Olympique Marseille, as Uribe is not so keen on moving to a league where he knows about the dynasty being created by Paris Saint Germain.
Then O Jogo names a few other clubs who are interested in the midfielder as well, and that’s where Fulham get a mention.
It’s said the player, whose contract with Porto expires this summer, has been waiting for the right project, and ‘informal contacts’ from agents have been taking place lately.
One of those representatives wanted to take him to Fulham, and another to Atletico Madrid, and those destinations are on ‘top of his preferences’.
So even though Italian, Brazilian, and Middle Eastern clubs are all in touch, it seems Marco Silva’s side would have an advantage in this race.
A renewal with Porto, however, isn’t ruled out yet, so the scenario is completely open right now.
