Fulham may have been handed their second chance to get striker Serhou Guirassy, with a release clause coming into effect next summer.
That’s according to BILD, who say the striker ‘becomes a bargain’ next summer thanks to a €20m clause in his contract.
Fulham were keen on the striker towards the end of the summer transfer window when they made a late move in an attempt to find a replacement for Aleksandr Mitrovic.
A deal never happened as Guirassy turned down the move and preferred to stay with VfB Stuttgart, where he has since shone at the beginning of this season.
A tally of 10 goals in five Bundesliga game so far has him beating the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Boniface in the goalscoring charts, a fact that has not gone unnoticed around Europe.
If he continues his current goalscoring exploits, the attention on him is only likely to increase, with those sort of numbers the kind that earn you plenty of admirers.
Fulham will surely be among them as they still need a striker and showed interest in the summer and now BILD report that they might have their opportunity as Guiarassy’s current deal, which runs until 2026, includes a €20m release clause.
That’s considered a ‘cheap transfer fee’ for the player, particularly if he continues his current goalscoring form for the remainder of the season.
Whether Fulham would be willing to pay such a sum isn’t clear, but they do have the money and need a striker, especially as Raul Jimenez continues to struggle.
It’s something to keep an eye on moving forwards, with Guirassy shining and that €20m clause likely to be tempting if the goals keep on flowing.
