Just a few days ago, we covered reports from France claiming Fulham defender Maxime Le Marchand could make a surprise move to Croatia.

It’s been claimed by RMC Sport that the 31-year-old has been in contact with Dinamo Zagreb, and would think about the possibility of making the transfer.

Now it seems he’s chosen another option instead, because according to Le10Sport, the player should actually be on his way to his home country.

It’s said that he’s found an agreement with Strasbourg and is now ‘very close’ to joining the Ligue 1 side. He set to sign a two-year contract ‘very soon’.

It’s not clear if Strasbourg would pay a fee for the move, especially because Le10Sport claims he’s out of contract with Fulham.

In June, the Whites confirmed they were using a clause to extend their deal with the player, who’s now tied until 2022. So the claims would only make sense if he’s rescinded his deal to complete the move for free.

He returned from a loan at Royal Antwerp this summer, but hasn’t been used by Marco Silva since the start of the season.
