Following the first reports regarding Fulham’s talks for the signing of Willian from Corinthians, the Brazilian media now features some updates on the situation.
Lance today writes that ‘some clubs of smaller expression in England’ made approaches for the signing in the past few weeks and it was the Craven Cottage side that ‘aroused attention’ from the player.
It’s said Corinthians will work hard to keep the winger, and despite Willian considering staying, the ‘family issue’ has been weighing in his move back to Europe as his wife and daughters have been finding it hard to adapt to Brazil, especially after the threats he received for poor performances at his club.
According to Lance, since Fulham’s effort, a return to England ‘became a possible reality’.
Another source bringing news on Willian’s situation is journalist Jorge Nicola.
He claims that following Corinthians’ match against Flamengo on Tuesday evening, there will be a meeting with his representatives to understand his wishes.
The reporter mentions that even though the Brazilian club haven’t received any bids, that isn’t a problem, since Kia Joorabchian has ‘open doors’ at English sides and a bid from a club like Fulham would be something ‘extremely simple’ for him.
