Fulham have finally reached an agreement to sign Issa Diop, report Foot Mercato on Monday.

According to the well informed French website, in what they’re presenting as their own information, Fulham have reached an agreement with West Ham after ‘several weeks of negotiations’ for the transfer.

Lyon had been trying to sign defender, but it’s explained the Ligue 1 side hit a very big bump in the road when Marco Silva showed up with interest.

Fulham’s first two proposals for Diop were rejected, yet they didn’t move away from the transfer plan, and have now made an acceptable offer to the Hammers.

Fulham will be paying £17m for the 25-year-old, and it’s explained he’s set to sign a five year contract with the club, on condition of everything being fine with his medical tests.

There’s no indication of when the medical will be held, although given he hasn’t got to travel far this one should progress quickly. Silva will get his man and West Ham can be happy with the fee they’ve finally got.
