On Saturday, we covered multiple reports from France which made it clear Carlos Soler’s move from PSG to West Ham was just one step away from happening.

The transfer has been in the works for around a week, with claims getting more serious in the past few days. At one point, Everton were brought in as supposed competition from the Premier League, but that felt like an attempt to put pressure on the Hammers to get a deal over the line.

The Spanish midfielder isn’t someone Luis Enrique looked set to count on for the current season, and with the PSG manager largely getting what he wants at the moment it was time to find a new home.

Over in Spain, Sunday’s edition of AS reports the transfer is on the verge of happening. They make it clear this is according to their own sources, so one would assume their information is from Soler’s camp.

According to AS, West Ham are signing the 27-year-old on a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option which will be set at €20m.
