Newcastle United have endured something of a difficult few weeks in the transfer market. Multiple targets have decided against joining the Magpies, as the club moved strongly for big money transfers to help them in the Champions League.
Now, at least according to Slovenian sources, they’ve been given a boost. Prominent daily newspaper Delo is reporting that Benjamin Šeško has chosen to join Newcastle United over Manchester United.
Both clubs have been strongly linked in recent days, with it looking like Manchester United had taken the lead, but Delo report the outcome is now in favour of Eddie Howe’s side.
According to the Slovenian newspaper, in what their chief football writer is presenting as an exclusive, and is also covered online, sources close to the transfer say Benjamin Šeško has chosen to join Newcastle United over other options including Manchester United.
There’s not much shared about a transfer fee being agreed with RB Leipzig, with the Slovenian article being more about Benjamin Šeško’s choice and that being Newcastle United.
Rasmus Højlund scored for Manchester United in their last friendly and afterwards insisted he wants to fight for his place, and perhaps that has played a part.
