Leeds United have a new name on their target list in the final few days of the window, and it’s Mohamed El Bachir Belloumi.
The claims come from Tuesday’s edition of Record, with the Portuguese newspaper saying the Whites are one of the latest clubs to show interest in the 22-year-old.
Belloumi currently plays for Farense and has a contract with the Liga Portugal club lasting until June 2027.
He’s played all of Farense’s three Liga Portugal games so far this season. During the last campaign he made 35 appearances, scoring seven goals and contributing five assists.
Nearly all of those appearances came on the right wing.
Record report Leeds United have Belloumi ‘in their sights’ and have sent people to watch the Algerian on multiple occasions.
There isn’t an urgency talked up here and it may well be that Leeds United are looking at Belloumi more in the long term rather than as a semi-panic buy this week.
The interest will be there, though, given it’s not exactly a rumour one would pluck from thin air.
