Alex Jimenez joined Bournemouth from AC Milan late in the summer window. The move was on the basis of a loan with an obligation to buy.

The deal went through quickly and the versatile full-back has now played three Premier League games for the Cherries. He started their 2-2 draw against Leeds United on Saturday.

Things are starting to look up for the 20-year-old but some negatives about him are coming from Italy.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s Luca Bianchin, relayed by MilanNews24, has claimed the youngster displayed discipline problems during his time at Milan.

He has ‘obvious talent and personality’ but Jimenez was late to training or team meetings twice at the Rossoneri and this led to Milan deciding to sell him to Bournemouth.

This is part of the Italian club’s new approach. They want to go big on discipline, regardless of the potential of the player. Similar treatment was also given to Theo Hernandez, who is now at Al-Hilal.

Max Allegri is uncompromising in his management and this aligns with sporting director Igli Tare’s ideas too.

Before moving to Bournemouth, Jimenez played 34 times in all competitions for Milan and also assisted twice, filling in at multiple positions in defence and attack.

The Cherries will hope that his discipline issues don’t pop up again.
