Marco Asensio has everything sorted out to join Aston Villa, reports Le Parisien journalist Benjamin Quarez on Monday evening.
RMC have the same story, with both sources going with the statement that ‘everything is ok’ for the transfer to be concluded. The assumption would be that on top of all the contractual issues between the two clubs, that Asensio has also sorted out his terms and any paperwork needed.
According to RMC’s report, Aston Villa will cover the Spaniard’s salary on a loan move until the end of the current season. At the end of that, there’ll be no buying option for the Premier League club so any extension of the stay would have be negotiated freshly.
The 29-year-old is under contract with PSG until June 2026, having joined them as a free agent from Real Madrid. In recent weeks he’s dropped out of the core plans of PSG manager Luis Enrique, and that’s allowed the move to Aston Villa to take shape.
