Tottenham goalkeeper Antonín Kinský has been told he has ‘no other option’ but to leave Spurs when he can and rebuild elsewhere.
The advice comes from his homeland, Czech Republic, and IDNES today. The newspaper cover the 22-year-old today following his horror show against Atletico Madrid.
Kinský made his first Champions League appearance last night, in what will go down as a memorable debut for all the wrong reasons.
He was substituted after just 17 minutes after conceding three goals in the opening 15 minutes. Two of those came from major individual errors from the goalkeeper, including a slip that led to the first goal.
The youngster was then seen to be upset as he headed straight down the tunnel after Tottenham manager Igor Tudor elected to take him off. The Italian claimed that it was to protect Kinský, but the decision has since been labelled as brutal.
Tottenham exit needed
IDNES, a major Czech newspaper and the leading football source, now state that Kinský has to get out, any way he can. They say the youngster is at ‘rock bottom’ after Tuesday’s game. The belief is that the incident will ‘drag on him’ until the end of his career.
According to the newspaper, the Tottenham youngster needs a quick solution. As soon as the transfer window opens, he has to go. On loan, or on a permanent basis doesn’t matter.
What he needs is a club where he feels trusted. Somewhere he can forget and get the ‘harrowing’ memory out of his head.
Loris Karius is the prime example. He never moved on from Liverpool quickly enough and his Champions League final horror show has followed him ever since.
Kinský wants to avoid that at all costs. He has ‘no other option’ but to get out of Tottenham and prove himself elsewhere. It would be unwise to stay at a ‘disintegrating’ Spurs. If he wants to save his career, he has to leave, and find himself elsewhere.
Our view: Svilar example as rebound goalkeeper
There’s precedent for that working too. Just look at Mile Svilar. He had a double disaster against Manchester United for Benfica when he was just 18-years-old.
That could have been career ending but instead he moved to AS Roma in 2022 and has excelled since claiming their number one spot in early 2024. In fact, Serie A named him as Goalkeeper of the Season last year and he’s wanted by multiple Premier League clubs.
That should give Kinský hope. But as IDNES say, first things first he has to leave Tottenham and find himself a new home.
