Looks like a Brazilian club tried (and failed) to sign Wolverhampton’s André ahead of their 2026 rebuild. According to Bolavip, Palmeiras made an exploratory approach to the midfielder’s camp, but the talks ended as soon as Wolves set their price.
Brazilian reports claim Palmeiras identified André as their first-choice option for the No. 5 role in 2026. As a result, the club sounded out the player’s representatives to understand his situation in England and to gauge whether Wolves might consider a sale.
The answer came quickly. Wolverhampton reportedly informed Palmeiras that André would not leave for less than €20m.
The figure was deemed unrealistic by the Brazilian side, who then withdrew from any negotiation. As a result, the midfielder remains firmly tied to Molineux, where he is under contract until 2029.
Palmeiras’ interest did not begin with this latest enquiry. As we covered earlier, there had already been “buzz” inside the club in recent months about the possibility of moving for André in 2026.
Even then, local journalists noted that Wolves’ £18.5m investment, the player’s long contract until 2029 and his current £23.5m valuation made any Brazilian bid highly unlikely, unless relegation pressure at Molineux forced major sales.
Palmeiras have now shifted their search to alternative targets.
