Midfielder Isco is likely to demand at least a €1.5m signing on bonus if he is to join Everton in the coming weeks.
Reports in England have made it clear that Everton are looking at a potential deal for the Spaniard after failing to sign any new players during the January transfer window.
They would be able to sign the player on a free in the coming days or weeks as he remains without a club following his release from Sevilla last month.
He had been set to join Union Berlin as a result but that deal failed on deadline day of the window, something which BILD cover today.
At that point he learned he would not be in the Europa League squad, something he was presumably not happy about.
That was frustrating for Union who, according to BILD’s information, had already got the player to agree to a one-and-a-half-year deal with a salary over €1m gross until the end of this season. The deal also included a signing bonus of €1.5m.
However, Isco’s entourage then asked for a second €1.5m payment in his second season, something Union refused to accept as it was not in the original draft.
Thus the move fell down and Isco was left looking for a new club once again, with Everton now exploring the possibility according to reports in England.
Whether they are willing to accept his demands, which are likely to change anyway given they’re a Premier League club, remains to be seen.
