Everton can rule out a move for FC Midtjylland striker Franculino Djú in the January transfer window.

That’s at least according to Tipsbladet. They report that Franculino is set to be out until March at the earliest. They’re relaying official information from the Danish club.

The Superliga star has missed the last two games with injury. That injury has now required minor surgery to resolve it. That’s been done, and everything has gone according to plan.

But it does mean that the striker is now set for an extended spell out on the sidelines. The expectation is that he will be ready to play again in March.

It brings an abrupt end to what had been a flying season for Franculino. He has 21 goals in 30 games across all competitions this season.

That’s led to increased transfer interest in him. Everton are long-term admirers. Indeed, a report today stated that they have watched the striker eight times already after first being linked in August.

Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United and other Premier League clubs have been credited with an interest at various points as well.

Now Everton and the rest of them will perhaps need to wait until next summer, with surgery meaning Franculino will be absent until at least March.
