Earlier on Wednesday, we covered reports from France which showed how complicated the latest rumours linking Will Still to the Sunderland are.
It was claimed that while he tells Stade de Reims he doesn’t want to leave, he also offered his services to the Black Cats.
The French club already dismissed the possibility of that move, and now quoted by France Info, the coach himself seemed to pour cold water on the Sunderland stories.
Still had a word with the local media at Stade de Reims’ training ground, and when asked about his future, he insisted people should treat everything with scepticism.
“You shouldn’t believe everything you read in the press,” Will Still told the French media.
So in case the previous reports about him playing a double agent are true, then he’s actually doing a good job by cooling the claims, especially given he was on Stade de Reims’ premises.
Now we wait and see whether he’s actually been in talks with Sunderland, as if the Black Cats do end up signing him, that will certainly be a situation which will generate many questions in a potential press conference presentation.
Even if that doesn’t happen, Still is surely going to have to front up to this situation in his next press conference with the Ligue 1 club.
