With most of the news regarding Raphaël Varane’s potential move to Manchester United coming from Spain, it’s always nice to see it confirmed in France.
This time, it’s TF1 journalist Julien Maynard who provides an update, stating there is now an ‘agreement in principle’ between the player and the Red Devils regarding a contract.
Now, all that needs to happen is for Manchester United and Real Madrid to ‘find an understanding’ regarding the transfer fee for the deal to go through.
As has been repeated many times, Varane ‘would like to discover the Premier League but will not go to war’ with the La Liga giants to get his wish.
Accord de principe entre Raphaël Varane et Manchester United.
Reste désormais à trouver une entente entre le Real Madrid et MU, qui négocient actuellement.

The France international has now entered the final year of his contract, so it really is in Real Madrid’s best interests to reach some sort of agreement with Manchester United, as they could otherwise lose him on a free next year.
That’s something Florentino Pérez will want to avoid, meaning that unless there is a huge gap between both parties, this should get done.
