Leaving Lille to sign for Sevilla in Spain last year, Ibrahim Amadou struggled to convince the La Liga side they needed to start him regularly.

Playing sporadically, the 26-year-old only featured 17 times in the league for the Spanish club, and it seems they are now willing to send him out on loan to get some extra game time.

The lucky recipients of the versatile defensive midfielder are Norwich City, continuously looking to bolster their squad ahead of a tough Premier League season.

According to RMC Sport’s Loic Tanzi, Amadou is going to sign at Carrow Road on Tuesday on a loan with a view to buy.

The details of the story haven’t filtered through yet, but considering Sevilla spent close to £13m on his services just a year ago, you would have to think they would be looking for something similar from Norwich should the English side decide to purchase him full time.

The former France U19 international started 18 times in all competitions for the Spaniards, featuring 32 times overall, picking up an assist in a 5-1 win over Standard Liege in the Europa League.
