It seems this should be a busy January window for West Ham United defender Issa Diop, because according to reports from France, at least three clubs are interested in signing him.
The information comes from Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, who today brought an update on some players who AC Milan are interested in signing, and the 24-year-old is one of them.
However, the Rossoneri are set to have competition from the Premier League, as Newcastle United and Watford are both said to be chasing the Frenchman as well.
Aouna claims that Milan ‘inquired’ about Diop, while the Magpies and Hornets have ‘established contacts’ for his signing.
The report doesn’t say how much West Ham would demand or what the clubs mentioned would offer for Diop, who has a contract running until 2023 and is valued by Transfermarkt at €12m.
Despite a couple of rumours in the summer, it had been a while since the defender had last been linked to a departure from the Hammers. He started the season on the bench, but ended up earning a place in the team and started six matches in December.
