With Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi ahead of him, Loïc Rémy looks unlikely to be getting regular minutes at Chelsea.
The Frenchman, who only played 615 minutes of football for Chelsea last season, will, at 29, want to be playing regularly, and a Spanish club seem willing to do help him do just that.
According to Le10 Sport in France, Villarreal have been asking about the player’s availability as they try and build on last season’s performances in Spain and in Europe.
The French website, whose exclusives in the past haven’t always been on point, claim concrete approaches could be coming in the near future.
Rémy has been touted over the past few days as a possible replacement from Alexandre Lacazette at Lyon if the star were to leave before the end of the summer, but with that seeming unlikely, another club seems the likelier option.
The former QPR star scored three goals and helped out with one assist in 20 appearances last season in all competitions.
