With no hurry to get a deal done before the end of the transfer window, Everton are reportedly in talks for the signing of Andre Ayew.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, the player could be on his way back to the Premier League, as he’s in ‘advanced negotiations’ with the Toffees.
The reason for Everton not to rush for his signing is that Ayew is a free agent, having rescinded his contract with Al-Sadd, and therefore could join them after the window closes.
The winger’s potential return to the Premier League had already been reported on deadline day, but with Nottingham Forest being pointed out as a potential destination, as he could return to working under Steve Cooper, who had him at Swansea.
But L’Equipe doesn’t even mention the Reds this time, only saying Everton are close on signing the 33-year-old.
Meanwhile, over in Italy there’s no update on Everton’s efforts to sign Nicolo Zaniolo late in the window.
