Having signed Anwar El Ghazi on loan from Lille, Aston Villa trying to bring in Yannick Bolasie on loan from Everton could seem like overkill.

However, Steve Bruce made it clear the two new wingers would be of huge help to the Villains’ attempt to return to the Premier League this season, and a loan for the DR Congo international is in the works.

That’s no secret, since all of the English press have covered it, but what appears to have slipped through the cracks, as far as we can see, at least, is that Aston Villa’s offer for Bolasie includes an option to make the move permanent.

This is what RMC Sport are reporting on Thursday on their live blog.

It might seem strange that a French outlet would know so much about the dealings between Everton and Aston Villa, but it’s worth pointing out the 29-year-old was born in Lyon in France, so there might be some contacts stemming from there.

Either way, it could be the Championship side will get a chance to sign Bolasie permanently if the Toffees accept their terms.

The winger was signed from Crystal Palace in August 2016 for just over £26m.
