Everton are unlikely to be able to sign Ajax striker Brian Brobbey this summer, with the player simply not interested in leaving the Dutch giants.
That’s according to journalist Roen Boeringa, who says that a ‘summer departure’ from Ajax is ‘not on the agenda’ for the player.
Everton were linked with a move for Brobbey yesterday, with reports in England stating that the Toffees had expressed an interest in a possible deal for him.
That comes amid their ongoing search for a new striker this summer, with Sean Dyche and Director of Football Kevin Thelwell desperately scouring the market for new forward additions after struggling in that area last season.
They’ve subsequently been linked with strikers all over Europe and Brobbey was the latest name added to the list in reports from England.
Boeringa admits it is ‘quite possible’ that Everton see a ‘very interesting’ option in the striker but, unfortunately, pours cold water on the idea of any move.
According to his information a summer departure from Ajax is not on the agenda for the player at this moment in time.
Of course, that could always change, and he could be persuaded into a move to Goodison Park, but for now it seems unlikely, and Everton might be best served turning their attentions elsewhere.
Dat Everton in Brian Brobbey een zeer interessante spits ziet, zoals vanochtend gemeld door Sky Sports, is goed mogelijk. Alleen staat een zomers vertrek bij Ajax niet op de agenda van de speler in kwestie.
