Much like his loan and with Georges-Kevin Nkoudou going the other way, the official announcement of Clinton N’Jié making his temporary deal to Marseille a permanent one took forever to come through.

The Cameroon international’s return to Ligue 1 wasn’t exactly the greatest, never securing a permanent spot in Rudi Garcia’s team, yet the 23-year-old was bought by the French side, most likely due to certain pre agreed conditions being met out of necessity.

However, according to La Provence, this transfer doesn’t necessarily mean the now former Tottenham forward will be at Marseille next season, with a second move still possible this summer.

The local French newspaper explain that despite scoring four goals in preseason, as many as new signing Valère Germain, the player’s performances haven’t exactly impressed his manager.

Down his end, however, the player is apparently acting as if he would be staying next season, even if a new forward to help Valère Germain is expected to arrive before the end of the transfer window.

Would Marseille be able to make a profit? We doubt it.
