According to a claim in the French media, Norwich City are closing in on summer target Bertug Yildirim.
The Rennes forward has been linked with a move to Norwich City repeatedly this summer and now looks on the verge of signing for the Championship club.
The Canaries will be looking to bolster their squad before the window closes at the end of the month as they target promotion back to the Premier League.
Benjamin Quarez reports Yildirim has already left for England ahead of his proposed transfer to Norwich City. It’s claimed once he lands in the UK, he will go through his medical tests with the club.
The French journalist hasn’t given any information on whether a transfer fee has been agreed between the two clubs or what length of contract the 22-year-old has been offered.
Yildirim made 15 appearances for the French club last season, scoring one goal. He’s been with Rennes since last summer after signing from Hatayspor.
He’s contracted to the Ligue 1 side until June 2028 and has played for the Turkish national team on three occasions.
