Despite the transfer window shutting two weeks ago, some transfers are still taking place as a few players spent the summer without being contracted to any club and are being picked up here and there by teams in need.

For example, reports emerged on Wednesday morning that former Wigan and Aston Villa winger Charles N’Zogbia was in talks with Nantes in France.

Well, another former Premier League player has found himself a new home, and that man is ex-Liverpool forward Ryan Babel.

The nomadic 29-year-old, who has had spells in Germany, Holland, Turkey and the UAE since leaving Anfield, will now continue his career in Spain with Deportivo La Coruña.

The club’s Twitter account announced on Wednesday afternoon that player would arrive in the evening to pass his medical on Thursday ahead of a move.

There is no indication as to how long the Spanish club are willing to keep him for, but a one-year contract to prove himself wouldn’t be too surprising.
