Feyenoord have made a ‘formal, concrete proposal’ to sign Bryan Gil from Tottenham as they look to secure his signature ahead of any potential competition.
That’s according to 1908.nl, who say they Dutch champions have ‘once again signed up’ to try and sign the Spaniard after their attempts in the January transfer window.
They explain that there are ‘concrete lines’ between Feyenoord and Tottenham over the player, with a formal, concrete proposal sent by the Dutch side this month.
The chances of a deal being done are currently slim given the finances involved, but efforts are being made by Feyenoord to get a player they think very highly of.
If an agreement can be struck and Tottenham accept the proposal from Rotterdam, the Spaniard will be able to call himself a Feyenoord player from July 1st.
At the moment it is not clear if the transfer would be a loan deal, a loan deal with a purchase option included or a full-time transfer. Those in charge in Rotterdam would prefer players like Gil to be committed to them on a long-term basis, though.
That would suggest they’ll want a full transfer, but whether they’d have the money to do a deal with Tottenham given they paid €25m to sign him from Sevilla is debatable.
Efforts are being made either way and their interest from January has not gone away, indeed, it seems it’s only become more concrete.
