Former Liverpool player, and still big favourite among the Anfield faithful, Luis Suarez hit out last night after Filipe Luis showed the results of a tackle from the match between Barca and Atleti.

Barcelona drew 1-1 at home with Atletico Madrid, with both Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets picking up injuries. Tensions were high and after the match, Suarez spoke in the media zone, and was clearly irritated.

Whilst with Liverpool, Suarez was often at the centre of controversy but his time has been calmer since leaving the Premier League and moving to Barcelona. The Uruguayan international has even managed to build upon his Liverpool form, and he’s made himself an essential part of the team.

Filipe Luis, who moved to Chelsea but failed to settle and then returned to Atletico, shared an image on Instagram of a small, yet still clearly painful, hole on the top of his foot.

Menos mal que no me toca! 🙈

That angered Suarez, who is quoted by Sport as saying: “Football is for men and what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch. If every time there’s a hit, you put a photograph on Instagram, then this would be a circus.

“This is football for men, for men. I will not be sending photos after every game.”

Whilst with Liverpool, Suarez had a reputation of, shall we say, overreacting to challenges, and he did that again last night against Atletico.

After the footballer made his comments about Filipe Luis, he then went on to complain about the rough treatment of Neymar.

Is Neymar not a man?
