Despite happening early on in the transfer window, the transfer of Radu Dragușin from Genoa to Tottenham continues to be a big talking point in Romania.
After all, it is their most expensive transfer of all time, as Spurs decided to really open their wallet to sign the centre-back.
Since then, many have commented on it, but football legend Gheorghe Hagi had yet to have his say on the Tottenham transfer, until Thursday, relayed by TVR Info.
He first explained that the deals for Dragușin and Horațio Moldovan, who went to Atlético Madrid, were great for Romania, as it shows a growing recognition for the players in the country and could benefit the national team.
About the Tottenham transfer in particular, he said: “The transfer of Radu Dragușin was extraordinary in terms of the amounts. An amazing boy who sold very well. It will be fantastic if he continues the progress he is making, and if he plays a lot, he will become one of the best-rated players in Romania as a defender.”
High praise from a name known all around the world of football, and comments that will likely spur the centre-back on to try and be as big of a success at Tottenham going forward.
The defender made his debut for Spurs in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United, coming off the bench in the second half.
