Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni has been backed to reunite with Antonio Conte at Tottenham as that’s the next logical step for him.

Bastoni has established himself as one of the key players for Inter since signing from Atalanta in 2017.

He initially spent two years out on loan, first with his former club and then Parma, before returning to Inter in 2019 and establishing himself as a star under Conte’s leadership.

The Tottenham boss is now reportedly keen on a reunion.

Numerous reports from Italy have made it clear he is trying to convince the player to reunite with him in London, although it will take a huge bid to convince Inter into the sale.

It’s a deal that will need a lot of work if Tottenham are to get their man, but former Italy midfielder Matteo Brighi can see the player being keen on it happening, despite some reports saying otherwise.

“Football has changed; in recent years, there has been a reluctance on the part of Italians to go abroad,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Bastoni has established himself at Inter; the next step is to compete in the Premier League and with those who play finals in Europe on a regular basis.

“It’s a natural thing: Italians abroad must be followed, and there are some abroad.”
