Davy Propper has been forced to withdraw from the Netherlands national squad, before even meeting up with his compatriots.

The news, which comes direct from Oranje, explains the Brighton & Hove Albion player has picked up a foot injury and is therefore unable to be counted on for the current international break.

Despite losing Propper, it’s explained manager Ronald Koeman does not intend to call up a replacement at this stage.

It’s a tough set of fixtures for Koeman and the Dutch team, with a Nations League match against Germany followed by a friendly against Belgium.

Propper, who signed for Brighton in the summer 2017 transfer window, had to leave the pitch against West Ham after 80 minutes in the Friday evening match.

At the time it was reported he left Brighton’s AMEX stadium on crutches, and an ankle injury was given as the initial reason.

Other than saying it’s his foot, there’s no further details from the Oranje statement on Monday morning.
